Tomcod Chowder


  • Buttered or salted pork in cubes
  • 12 potatoes, sliced
  • 6 onions cut in rings
  • 24 tomcod
  • Salt and pepper
  • Water


  1. Melt the fat in a casserole.
  2. Add a row of potatoes.
  3. Cover it with fish and add a row of onions and continue to add layers until all the ingredients are added.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour water up to half of the casserole.
  6. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.
